Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how htmlnotee collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the HTML knowledge note product.

1. Who We Are

htmlnotee is an HTML-first knowledge note product. The service lets users sign in, create knowledge bases, generate visual HTML notes with AI, save notes, reopen notes, copy sanitized HTML, and manage paid plans and credits.

This policy applies to htmlnotee websites, app pages, account features, AI generation features, import features, billing features, and customer support communications.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, profile image, account ID, login provider, locale, account status, and timestamps.
  • Google OAuth information: the basic profile information that Google provides for sign-in, such as name, email address, and profile image. htmlnotee does not ask users to create an email/password account for the current product.
  • Knowledge note content: knowledge base names, note titles, rawInput, rawHtml, sanitizedHtml, plainText, stylePreset, styleSeed, styleProfileJson, generation metadata, createdAt, and updatedAt.
  • Imported content: text extracted from txt, Markdown, HTML, PDF, docx, pptx, and supported OCR image imports when you choose to import those files.
  • AI generation data: prompts, source content, selected style settings, generation task status, model name, output HTML, sanitization result, error state, timeout state, and credit cost estimate.
  • Billing and credits data: plan key, subscription status, credit balance, credit transactions, one-time pass or top-up purchase status, checkout identifiers, order IDs, refunds, chargebacks, and payment status returned by the payment provider.
  • Support data: messages you send to us, your account email, screenshots, order IDs, error details, and any other information you include in a support request.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, route, referrer, logs, security events, and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.

3. How We Use Information

  • To create and maintain your account and Google OAuth session.
  • To save, search, reopen, edit, copy, and delete your HTML knowledge notes.
  • To send source content to the configured AI provider, including DeepSeek, so the product can generate visual HTML knowledge notes.
  • To sanitize and repair generated or imported HTML before preview, save, and copy.
  • To estimate and deduct credits for AI generation and to avoid charging credits when a generation fails.
  • To process paid plans, subscriptions, top-up credits, cancellations, refunds, billing disputes, and fraud checks.
  • To respond to support, privacy, billing, and product questions.
  • To secure the service, prevent abuse, debug incidents, measure reliability, and comply with legal obligations.

htmlnotee does not use your private knowledge notes to create public marketing examples without your permission.

4. AI Processing

When you ask htmlnotee to generate or edit an HTML note, your source content and generation settings are processed by the configured AI provider. For the current HTML note generation path, the configured provider is DeepSeek.

AI output is treated as untrusted content. htmlnotee sanitizes generated HTML before it is previewed, saved, or copied. The original source remains stored separately as rawInput or rawHtml so you can regenerate, compare, or keep a record of the material you provided.

5. Payments and Third-Party Providers

htmlnotee uses third-party service providers to operate the product. These providers may include hosting, database, authentication, AI, storage, email, analytics, and payment services.

Payments are processed by Creem or another checkout provider shown at checkout. htmlnotee stores the information needed to manage your plan, credits, access, refunds, and billing support. htmlnotee does not store your full card number or full bank account details.

6. Current Paid Product Data

htmlnotee offers Free, Creator, Pro, and top-up credits. Billing records may include whether your plan is Free, Creator Monthly, Creator Yearly, Pro Monthly, Pro Yearly, or a top-up credit pack.

Credit records are used to support generation limits, monthly credit grants, rollover caps, one-time credits, top-up validity, failed-generation non-charging, and account support.

7. How We Share Information

  • With service providers that help us run the product, such as authentication, hosting, database, AI generation, storage, email, monitoring, and checkout providers.
  • With payment providers when needed to process checkout, subscriptions, taxes, invoices, refunds, chargebacks, and fraud prevention.
  • When required by law, legal process, government request, or to protect rights, safety, security, and product integrity.
  • With your direction or permission, such as when you copy HTML, contact support, or ask us to help diagnose an account issue.

We do not sell your personal information or private note content.

8. Security and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, TLS for data in transit, server-side HTML sanitization, sandboxed preview boundaries, and operational logging.

We keep account, note, billing, support, and log data for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. When data is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or retain it only where legally necessary.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can edit or delete notes from the product interface where those actions are available.
  • You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal data by contacting support.
  • You can request account deletion, subject to retention needed for security, billing, tax, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
  • You can stop using Google OAuth by disconnecting access through your Google account settings, but this may prevent you from signing in.
  • You can ask questions about privacy, AI processing, or billing records by email.

10. Children

htmlnotee is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to htmlnotee, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the product, providers, laws, or operations change. The updated page will show the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the product or by email.
